NICU Nurse & Pediatric Sleep Expert

Meet Cara

Combining clinical expertise with real-life experience to help millions of families navigate sleep with confidence.

Expertise shaped by experience

Before Taking Cara Babies, Cara spent years working as a neonatal nurse, caring for newborns and supporting parents through some of their earliest (and often most overwhelming) days together.

Her professional experience, combined with her own journey as a mother of four, shaped a philosophy that still guides Taking Cara Babies today: families deserve sleep support that is rooted in expertise, responsive to real life, and delivered without judgment.

How It Started

Even with years of experience caring for newborns as a neonatal nurse, becoming a mother brought a new perspective. Cara understood babies, but like so many new parents, she also experienced firsthand how exhausting and emotional sleep struggles could be.

That intersection of clinical knowledge and lived experience became the foundation for Taking Cara Babies.

Cara began translating what she knew into clear, practical tools parents could actually use at home. What started as a desire to help families sleep better grew into a trusted sleep education resource that has supported millions of parents through the newborn days, nap transitions, sleepless nights, and everything in between.

Today, the mission remains the same: to give families the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to navigate sleep in a way that works for their family.
